Job Description

This position reports to the Head of the Media Data Science Identity team and will take a leading role in the production of data analysis, machine learning models, and algorithms designed to maximize the value of our data, all while playing an crucial role in relevant products and services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Play a leading role in the use of sophisticated algorithms and data mining strategies
  • Significantly contribute to the development of Nielsen’s Identity Engine data-related products
  • Develop and maintain ongoing data pipelines for internal and third-party data
  • Support the business teams to solve complex analytical challenges
  • Conduct studies, tests and use advanced data mining and modeling techniques to build solutions that optimize the quality and performance of the company’s data
  • Minimum of 2+ years work experience in data science and analytics
  • Advanced degree in computer science, statistics, STEM, or comparable field
  • Proficiency in Python and relevant data science libraries (e.g. numpy, pandas, sci-kit learn)
  • Experience working with relational databases and strong knowledge of SQL
  • Proven ability to develop machine learning models and deploy them to production
  • Strong communication skills, ability to explain complex problems to non-technical audiences
  • Passion for analyzing and utilizing large data sets
  • Solid working knowledge of Bash and Git
  • Experience with other tools common to the data science world such as Airflow, Spark, MLlib, MLflow, Tensorflow, and PyTorch
  • Experience in media or marketing analytics, including lookalike modeling, customer segmentation, or experience in online media and the ad tech ecosystem is advantageous
