You will be a core team member of our All-In team, located in Atlanta.  All-In is a center of excellence focused on improving the representation of women and diverse groups at McKinsey and helping us to become a more inclusive organization.

Our All-In mission is a top priority for our firm. The team is represented on all major governance committees and has the active support of our Global Managing Partner. We work with colleagues in our regions, offices, and practices to share best practices, define strategies, and design and implement initiatives at different levels of the firm. Core to this is radical data transparency and next-level analytics to identify drivers of change. 

You will also collaborate with the People Analytics and Measurement team, composed of analysts, data scientists, and others who provide reporting, analytics, and insights that enable the Firm to understand and optimize our people operations, and measure the impact of our strategic initiatives, while delivering meaningful innovation in people analytics. 

You will work closely with our All-In, Diversity and Inclusion teams to advance the mission and contribute to the strategic goals, initiatives, and activities of the team members and key stakeholders.

You will also develop fluency in the firm's people systems and help translate the All-In team's strategic and tactical questions into rigorous analysis. You will be responsible for supporting projects that examine representation levels of women and diverse colleagues, developing a methodology for measuring and tracking inclusion across the firm, and identifying high-impact initiatives through thorough understanding of pain points and return on investment.

Additionally, you will communicate and present the results of this analysis, help translate the results, and suggest potential actions supported by the data.

  • Bachelor's degree with focus or specialization in data or ops analytics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, social science, or similar field; graduate degree a plus
  • 1 - 2 years of relevant professional experience in data analytics demonstrating mastery of real-world data
  • Demonstrated expertise in extracting data from production databases like Oracle and SQL Server and cleaning it to create analytically tractable data sets
  • Experience with analytical tools and software such as R (preferred), and Python
  • Proficiency in SQL, including experience retrieving data from relational databases
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies like Agile, including issue/workflow tracking tools like Jira and Trello and version control tools like git and GitHub
  • Familiarity with visualizing data using ggplot2, matplotlib, d3.js, Tableau, Alteryx, or similar tools
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, including manipulating large datasets
  • Comfort with dealing with ambiguity, making assumptions, and drawing conclusions
  • Passion for topics related to diversity, including improving outcomes for individuals of diverse backgrounds, and rigorous reliance on linking activities to data driven insights on pain points and impact areas
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple projects - both as manager of and individual contributor - within a broader team
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and with shifting priorities
  • Flexibility in working style, eager to collaborate with a team (often virtually) and to engage in independent work
