Job Description


The business analyst’s role is assisting the business implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to all stakeholders, facilitators and partners.

Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs. Candidate must be able to author requirements documentation by possessing excellent communication, written and organizational skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Translating business needs into technical solutions and corresponding technical requirements used throughout the development process, including detailed understanding of materials management and inventory management within an SAP environment, and the integration of that environment with Warehouse Management functions as provided by a Red Prairie (or similar) solution.
  • Ensuring that project expectations are met by reviewing projects upon completion and collecting and reporting on user and product owner feedback to make recommendations for improvement.
  • Use requirements to drive the design or review of test cases, process change requests, and manage a project’s scope, acceptance, installation and deployment.
  • Understanding and anticipating business needs and challenges in the “Source to Pay ” (Supply Chain and Logistics Management focus) business process area.
  • This position will work closely with Project Management, Technical Lead and IT Change Management teams in handing off the correct requirements for the project as well as building key relationships with stakeholder.

Requirements & Preferred Skills:

  • BA Degree Computer Science preferred or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience as Business Analyst in the area of IT writing business cases and technical requirements.
  • SAP skills are required
  • Knowledge of supply chain/warehouse management is required
  • Knowledge of emerging technology trends
  • Experience working with the following systems/technologies would be beneficial: web development technologies, and database concepts.
  • Understanding of systems engineering concepts. Experience with modeling techniques and methods.
  • Strong ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis and problem solving skills
  • Strong customer focus
  • Sound understanding of IT best practices for delivering of business solutions including project management, data integration and technology possibilities
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work under pressure
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Project, Visio, Excel and Access
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written are required
  • Be innovative in developing and executing the assigned initiatives
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong self-starter and team player
  • Able to read requirements and extrapolate the test scenarios that should be included in test plans
  • Able to write test plans and test cases for PS HCM 9.2
  • Solid understanding of interfaces and ability to work with 3rd party vendors to resolve any issues
  • Prefer experience with banking or financial services HR policies
