Job Description

Start Date: Immediate
Duration: 3 months, flexible working hours, 15-20 hours/week
Location: Midtown, NY (must be able to come in for face-to-face interview)
Summary:
Universal Processing New York office is looking for an intern to manage the database and generate the leads for our expanding sales team. This is an amazing opportunity for an individual to gain exposure in a fast-growing and innovative company. This internship will focus on establishing lead generation process and database for the business development team. You will get hands-on experience on collecting and maintaining data, and will work with the Director of Business Development to constantly elevate the quality of our database. Ideal candidates should show high interest in financial industry and data management.
Main Responsibility:

  • Research merchant information by navigating websites, browsing newspapers and yellow pages etc.
  • Enter merchant data to excel sheets; organize, categorize and maintain data integrity based on business model, team needs, and workflow processes.
  • Communicate with the manager or team members to update merchant information and reorganize data based on team feedback and updates.
  • Work closely with the manager to create and improve data collection and entry processes and gradually establish lead system for the business development team.
  • Resolve database issues and provide information and assistance to facilitate the selling process
  • Work closely with Director of Business Development on other tasks as assigned

About You:

  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Proficient skills in Excel, data entry and management
  • Bilingual skill in English and Chinese is required
  • Current students pursuing Data Analysis, Database Management or related degrees are preferred
  • Students interested in payment processing industry are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Motivated and self-starting with a desire to succeed and contribute to the success of a team

Compensation:

This is an unpaid internship. Lunch stipend will be provided. School credit can be offered if desired.
