You will be part of a new data engineering team, located in San Jose, Costa Rica, working with Journey Analytics experts and data scientists in New York and Dusseldorf.

You will be a core member of the Journey Analytics leadership team, responsible for the end-to-end design, build, maintenance, deployment and delivery of our proprietary analytics platform, built on AWS, Argon-X.

As the platform owner, you will be responsible for the Argon-X development roadmap, maintaining the documentation and integrity of platform, while monitoring deployment and stability of the platform during active engagements.

As the leader of a Journey Analytics hub, you will be expected to manage, guide and mentor team members and peers both professionally and technically.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in owning a data management platform for cutting edge Advanced Analytics and Data Science, leaning into a senior leadership role.

Your drive to implement the best possible solutions for clients in close collaboration with a highly skilled Data Science team will help you lead and be hands-on with a team of Data Engineers to model a client’s data landscape, obtain data extracts and define secure data exchange approaches. You'll also plan and execute secure, good practice data integration strategies and approaches. You’ll deploy analytics environments on AWS and build API connections to custom visualizations and third party tools.

Working on projects and exchanging experiences with your colleagues means you will face new intellectual challenges on a daily basis, while continuously building your methodological knowledge and skills. You will be exposed to an enormous variety of topics across many different industries such as a world-leading bank figuring out how to best manage the customer experience across all of its channels, a pharmaceutical company to better predict which patients are more likely to contract a disease, or a utility company better manage its risk.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years experience in Data Engineering in a professional services environment with AWS is highly preferred
  • Experience overseeing the data stream of multiple projects including client deployments, integration and migration efforts
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor junior colleagues to success
  • Adept at communicating and managing key stakeholders and able to drive change in the organization
  • Experience and interest in Big Data technologies (Hadoop / Spark / NoSQL DBs)
  • Experience and interest in visualization tools (d3.js, HTML, React, Native, JavaScript, Tableau)
  • Strong experience in traditional data warehousing / ETL tools (Athena, Informatica, Talend, Pentaho)
  • Strong SQL experience, and preferably Python / Scala / Java / R
  • Willingness to travel internationally
