Job Description

You'll be based in Boston, Chicago, New York or Washington DC and will part of the McKinsey Transformation (MT) practice, working closely with MT’s incubator solution leader.

McKinsey Transformation unites the firm’s recipes for organization-wide transformation under a single umbrella, including offerings such as RTS, Enterprise Transformation, and Corporate Restructuring. 

You will contribute to the execution and iteration of MT’s asset strategy, championing product development capabilities and agile practices in our client service teams and client transformations.

In this role you will work in MT’s Incubator, reporting to and partnering closely with the incubator solution leader to drive key practice priorities and owning components of the product’s development. You will work with integrative consultants, software engineers, product designers and other asset teams to deliver products with high levels of value, usability, quality and predictability.

You will partner with functional experts, client facing colleagues, and solution leadership teams to understand the problems we aspire to solve, challenging assumptions, and testing hypothesis.  You will develop user personas and user journeys to create user empathy and understanding within the team.

You will leverage your understanding of key agile methodologies, lean practices and modern product development best practices. This may come in the form of concept sprints, define hypothesis, creating lo-fidelity tests in client situations, and build the workplans across product, knowledge and the transformation recipe.

  • Undergraduate degree with excellent academic record
  • 8+ years of professional experience in product development roles, including meaningful experience in Strategic and/or Technical Product management
  • Experience building both B2B and consumer products from the ground up
  • Deep experience driving understanding of the problem being solved and users served, and proven ability to create tests and rigorously prioritize execution
  • Working knowledge of SaaS technical capabilities (e.g., configuration, integration, etc.) and common challenges faced in development and deployment
  • High quality standards to ensure success and positive client/client service team experiences across the entire development cycle
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills paired with the ability to develop practical, creative and efficient solutions
  • Ability to be “stand-alone” in senior client and colleague settings
  • Clear oral and written communication skills to present complex value propositions
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to navigate complex situations. Ability to adapt and champion ideas that improve or expand your own
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with desire to work in fast-paced and intellectually rigorous environment 
  • Ability to consistently deliver exceptional results on demanding timelines
